The roles we made things play in our daily circus impoverish them and strips us of our imagination. By receiving a rigidly defined, pre-programmed relationship with things, we deprive the things of their versatility and we deprive ourselves of the joy of reading the potential meanings they contain.

There are no universal words or universal objects that would be used for the same purpose in every culture, but we very rarely have the opportunity to find ourselves in a situation where all objects are completely new to us.

RE(C)ACTIONS is an exhibition of non-obvious objects invented by students of Department of Interdisciplinary Activities in Ceramics and Glass in the Academy of Art and Design in Wrocław. The creators have pre-defined and suggested their function or the type of use but these roles, as well as the objects themselves, are still so young and not really established that perhaps we could try to redefine and reinvent them for ourselves.
