TEABOWLS

In our culture, both our mouth and the inside of our hand are very intimate and personal areas of the body, reserved only for special situations and unique ‘encounters’. The teabowl crosses both these body boundaries, it is made to nest in the hand and to have direct contact with the lips. Probably it is the most personal object that could be made of clay.
